The Precursors aren't just your average species.

 • Neither were the Sith species. But they're still mortal. Same as the Precursors (if they even existed).

 • Precursors can "die", but death doesn't matter to them. It would be extremely difficult to defeat even one of them.

 • And it would be extremely difficult to defeat anybody skilled in the force. Darth Nihilus wiped our entire planets by speaking to them, yet was defeated by an old apprentice. That means Jedi, through use of the force, can overcome even the hardest of obstacles.

 • The apprentice did it because he was a wound in the force. The Precursors could easily defeat most Force-users. The Forerunners could contend with the Jedi. And once the Gravemind gains the ability to use the force, no Force-user could beat him.

 • How would the grave mind develop the ability to use the force? It's not an ability you gain. And I'm not talking weak Jedi, I mean users like Exar Kun. Some Sith were no longer connected to the world physically, and just held their body together using the force. So some Sith are capable of using the force without even being physically alive.

 • As for the second part, that isn't really relevant. As for the Gravemind, you do know what it does, right? The Gravemind assimilates all organic matter, knowledge, experiences, skills, and abilities. Even if the Gravemind can't use the Force just after infecting a Jedi, he could physically add the Jedi directly to his own organic mass. From that point I could get extremely hypothetical and just say he immediately destroys everything in his path, but he at least gains the ability to use the force, but with an infinite willpower and strength to back it up.

 • Unless of course the gravemind can absorb spirits too through some weird use of magic, which then or course he solos Halo and Syarwars combined.

 • You do realize the Gravemind doesn't kill his victims, right?

 • Yes, but im saying the gravemind can't control the spirits of the body's he's controlled. If the body were to be killed, or already was, the force stays with the spirit, not with the body.

 • Literally every part of a being is consumed and assimilated by the Gravemind. None of his victims die, they just become part of him. So "spirits" don't matter.

 • Yes it does. The force isn't attached to the body. It's attached to the spirit. So yes, he could use the body as a puppet, but it wouldn't be able to utilize the force to its full potential.

 • He doesn't just use the body, m8. Something tells me you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about when it comes to Halo.

 • Something tells me you know nothing about starwars. You seem to think the force can be matched by any form of technology. The gravemind assimilates all of its puppets into one collective intelligence. Am I wrong?

 • You have not brought up anything about Star Wars that I didn't already know about. Yes, the Force can be matched. And yes, the Gravemind does do that, but it doesn't just assimilate the body. It assimilates everything about the person. everything. The ability to use the Force would not be exempt.

 • You don't just gain the ability to use the force. You can't. It's based on midochloridians and on the spirit. If you have none of either of these, then the force can not be utilized.

 • Midichlorians are biological.

 • Yes but they have a collective conscience, which is the force.

 • But if they are biological, they can obviously be assimilated by the Flood. That isn't even questionable.

 • Yes it is, because they're controlled by a supernatural force. That's like saying a God can be controlled by a priest.

 • God isn't connected to Humans through a biological system. The Force doesn't discriminate.

 • Hmmm good point.

 • Yes it would. The gravemind can't assimilate spirits. And no the force cannot be matched. Its what connects all life and is essentially a god. No weapon can defeat or control it. It is indefinite and insurmountable.

 • Infinite technology=matches the Force. Also, Neural Physics is essentially the Halo equivalent.

 • And that is very relevant. What use would the flood have of they can't attach/control a host? The Jedi/Siths power comes from their spirit, and therefore they're still able to use the force even after they die.
