Us casuals will be leaving soon, You're welcome

With no signs of Raid matchmaking, the causal gamer such as myself will be leaving soon. (I know this makes many of you happy) You see, I am not a great player by any means, and while I'm not mad about leaving destiny, I won't be buying the DLC. I just got the "charity" boots and gloves from IB. With an exotic chest piece, I have only a helmet to get to 30.... I will not be able to raid without matchmaking, so I wont be getting the raid helmet....If I cant get to 30, why get the DLC Matchmaking was an oversight, no matter what you say. So its cool, destiny was fun for the most part...but I think in the next 2-3 weeks it will be over and I'll go back to Madden Just an insight from a more casual fan to Bungie... I know your game is a monetary success, but you are leaving some money on the table with some of us.

  • I keep seeing a lot of people say matchmaking is a terrible idea because it will reduce fireteam quality and communication. I'd have to say so what? The current system is exclusionary. It takes up a lot more time, effort, and forces out the inexperienced (who then stay that way). This is in exchange for better quality and communicating fireteams needed to complete the raid. So why not both systems? Adding matchmaking doesn't delete the forums or stop you from coordinating it only would deplete the player base using them, mostly those who arent getting much from them anyways. Adding a matchmaking system would come with it's inherent pitfalls but the frustration now isn't I can't get a team to complete a raid it's I can't get a team to even start one in the time we have. What I think most people including me want is matchmaking to save on time. If I intend to complete it I'm happy to use the forum to insure quality, but a lot of the time I would just like to practice or get the first chest at least before the week turns over. Novice raiders would gain experience playing though there's the lower chance of them completing it. So to summarize matchmaking would open the ability to play (not necessarily finish) the raid to many more players and this in turn will help bring more of the player base up to a point where they can raid competently as well as making it so the casual gamer isn't so excluded. The thing I think mainly stopping it is bungie deeming a matchmaking system not productive enough in completing to be worth the money and would frustrate players more. I say no it would satisfy two markets. Players that want to roll the dice and those that want to preplan the raid.
