Vault of Glass Tips & Advice.

Ok Guardians, I've heard countless rules and/or overall good advice that is spoken during experienced groups of VoG. So to help those that are wanting to tackle it, or those that need a bit of help, I felt the need to post these rules and pieces of advice. Please feel free to contribute. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [b][u]Rules[/u]:[/b] [b]() [/b]DON'T BE A JERK! [b]() [/b]Tell your group if you have a limited amount of time. Most groups will still appreciate your help. [b]() [/b]Stay with the group. This is especially helpful as a Guardian can easily get lost in the Vault. [b]() [/b]Learn the Relic. With the random teleport, every Guardian needs to know how to use it. [b]() [/b]"Mars" is left portal, "Venus" is right. Also, call out which direction the portal team needs to go to get to the center if you're on the outside. [b]() [/b]No grenades for Atheon. This makes him move and landing critical hits becomes difficult. [b]() [/b]Shoot all the Supplicants, not just those near the portal you need open. They will not despawn and will kill you at any chance. Better to take as many down as you can every time. [b]() [/b]The left pillar of the center platform is dangerous, stay away. You can die from splash damage if you're too close to the left pillar. [b]() [/b]If you start taking damage in the Relic's bubble, you are not completely inside of it. Move! [b]() [/b]Go through the portals single file, no sprinting or jumping. This helps eliminate the portal glitch. [b]() [/b]Jump to the back of the center platform, then walk in to the relic's bubble. DO NOT bump the relic holder when the shield is active. Both tips help prevent the relic from being dropped or the shield going down. [b]() [/b]The Relic Holder does not have to stay in the portal the entire time. Once there are only two Oracles left, you can cleanse and leave. The two remaining Oracles have to be killed for this to work. This gives you added time for Time's Vengance. [b]() [/b]Oracle killers need to stay together and move towards the portal together! This helps the Relic Holder cleanse you both. Use your mini-map if you start to lose track of your buddy. [b]() [/b]Under normal circumstances please don't call out that you need a cleanse. The Relic Holder goes blind just like you, so while they are dealing with the small portal mobs, please don't scream about a cleanse. Only if you get separated do you ask for a cleanse. [b]() [/b]Ammo Synthesis is a MUST!! Have at least a few for all types but make sure you have plenty of heavy. Wiping can cause you to slowly lose heavy ammo if you have an armor heavy ammo increase perk. [b]() [/b]Call out time left for Time's Vengance. Sometimes it doesn't show for other Guardians. [b]() [/b]Above where your grenade and melee timer is, it will list when the Oracle is down. Watching this saves ammo. [b]() [/b]During Confluxes, green puddles are the devil. Stay away from them. If Marked for Negation, cleanse yourself in the fountain underneath and in front of the Templar. [b]() [/b]During the Templar fight, call out if you go down. Team mates need to know so they can cover what you can't. Also, while down call out Hobgoblin snipers. [b]() [/b]During Gatekeeper, while you're protecting the conflux you can go all the way up the stairs to BEHIND where the Minotaurs spawn and lay down destruction without taking damage. [b]() [/b]When holding the relic on Mars stay on the ground until you are near the bottom of the stairs then smash them. [b]() [/b] If you need help during any part, speak up. If your raid group does not respond appropriately, then it may be time for a better raid group. If you're not experienced with a certain part, or all, tell your raid group. This can help immensely. [b]() [/b] Open chests together or ask if anyone needs you to wait. It's common courtesy. [b]() [/b] No rockets in the shield! Doing so can cause you to kill yourself. [b]() [/b] If/when relic holder tells you to jump off platform, get off! Heros can cause wipes. [b]() [/b]Survival first, mission second. [b]() [/b] If you need to go AFK (away from keyboard, in our case controller), tell the group and try to make sure your character is in a position to NOT get killed. [b]() [/b][u]HM[/u] Stay out of other Titan's bubbles. Their bubble can be your downfall when Atheon triggers the detainment shields. If you're caught in another Guardian's bubble, shooting/meleeing your way out of the bubble becomes really hard. [b]() [/b] [u]HM[/u] If on Mars and mob is walking up stairs, go to the right and come up behind them. This increases survival odds. [b][u]Advice[/u][/b]: [b]() [/b]No grenades on "Mars." This triggers the Hobgoblins' shields. Exception: Titan defender's suppression grenades and Hunter's Arcbolt grenades work well. (If you see that the relic holder was not able to kill all three, a grenade can help them get more time.) [b]() [/b]Throw grenades (or Golden Gun for Hunters) on "Venus." Or shoot only the Minotaur until the Oracle spawns. Both work well. [b]() [/b]Titan bubbles can make a huge difference both good and bad. Titan bubbles can help blind praetorians if placed at spawn points during Gatekeeper. Also, when used at the back of the center platform, the bubble can help protect Guardians when leaving the platform after the shield goes down. BUT if placed too soon and too far forward, the bubble will ruin Time's Vengance. (Weapons cannot fire outside of the bubble so if the bubble takes up the whole platform you ruin it for everyone.) [b]() [/b]Kill the Gatekeeper on the steps, the adds won't react. Once the GK is down and the first portal is activated, the adds will despawn so only take out the ones threatening the team and save ammo BUT watch out for Hobs sniping. [b]() [/b]Relic Holder can go around a column on the right side, inside the portals, to gain better access to the mobs. Also by doing this the enemies won't start moving until you jump so you can kill the two goblins in one shot and then can focus on the Minotaur ("Venus"). [b]() [/b]You can slide underneath Hobgoblins rounds. [b]() [/b]Time's Vengance is a damage boost. If your outside team didn't clear enough Supplicants, use TV wisely and take them out. Golden Gun is not boosted by TV. [b]() [/b]When the portal team is on "Mars" the mini-map will show them at bottom left. When they are on "Venus" it will show top right. [b]() [/b]Time's Vengenace causes a damage boost, use it to your advantage if there are too many Supplicants. [b]() [/b] Suppressor and Flashbang grenades disable Hobgoblins shields and Minotaur teleports. [b]() [/b]Relic Moves: Grenade button to cleanse, runs on a timer in your grenade slot. Melee and Fire buttons are melee moves. Jump + Fire button slams down, causing damaging concussion. Hold Grenade during Time's Vengance for protective shield.
