I had a plasma a few years ago & never had a problem with it. I was careful tho, the shop i got it from told me that if i gamed on it the screen would be fine as long as i didnt pause the game or leave the game unattended for extended periods of times. Its when the picture is stationary that the burn can happen. Idk alot about tv,s so im just telling you what the guy told me & i never had a problem. Ive also heard this same thing from other tv outlets that ive bought tv,s from so maybe thats your issue.

  • I took every precaution to not have this happen. Raids alone at first took 4-6 hours, was I supposed to pause my group and wipe my screen? This is Bungies obligation to understand many Destiny players have no choice but to gam a plasmas, and should supply the simple option to fade the HUD. Failing to see that is just being stubborn.

  • Ummmm yes? Tell your clan that you need time to save your TV every hour or so. Maybe you should start a new clan "Shitty Plasma TV Raiding Clan". Then you could all pause the game and wipe the screen. Again this is your problem, not Bungies. Take some responsibility for your own decisions, good lord.

  • If this logic is a good business model, I'm glad you're not involved in this decision. Deej recently commented on this matter as it turns out and they're working on a solution.

  • And I do agree it is a good business practice. But you are acting entitled to a fix. You aren't. You don't "deserve" for them to spend money and time fixing this. You chose a plasma and you need to cope with it. If Bungie decides to put out a fix, to me that's going above and beyond and it should be recognized as such. Im sure when they do put out a fix instead of being grateful and appreciative of Bungies work, you will say "about time" and "shoulda had this at launch". Etc

  • I see your point, I'd like for you to see mine as well. Bungie is well aware that literally around 20% of their player base plays on plasmas. Now I know nothing about programming, but I'd imagine with their new and flexible game editing engine they built strictly for Destiny to be easily changed, this would not be a hard thing to implement, knowing that this can effectively ruin millions of dollars worth of tvs. Many people in this very thread have the same issue as I do.

  • I do see your point as I've stated. It would be great if they could accommodate the change. My issue is with you feeling owed by Bungie. If the back of the game case said "will not harm plasma TVs" Bungie would be responsible to fix this problem in that case.

  • Maybe you should call your TV customer service too and have them change their manufacturing to make you happy. According to you, they should be held responsible above Bungie, as a good "business practice"

  • Or have bingie write literally 12 lines of code and implement a HUD opacity slider
