Im not really familiar with the newer programs. Is that object textured or are we looking at the wireframe? It looks like there is some texture shader on it. Like a bump map or procedural. If not, it looks like a lot of polys. While this does increase definition it also increases resources and render times. You can always reduce the mesh if needed and then slap a new procedural on it. You should try using a dark blue or purple glow on the object. It would be a little closer to black. I doubt the other posters realize that you cant do black volumetric lighting unless your using a subtractive method and even then it just would create a black blob. Other than that it looks great. Keep up the good work man. Go make us some good video games.
