I have a Pioneer Kuro 50" plasma with no burn in issues. I have nothing to worry about.. My Pioneer is at least 6yrs old, purchased it brand new. I have played lots of Xbox games over the years on this Plasma. Brand new out of the box the plasma TV is at its highest setting. You need to have the Plasma TV calibrated (ISF/THX certification). Sorry to say it's not the game developers or the TV makers fault, it's the owner for not doing the necessary research prior in purchasing the TV..

  • Actually my 2012 VT60 was on its lowest settings at first. I know an extensive amount about televisions, and an an elder member on forums like AVS, and CNET. I prepped to TV for 200 hours before even gaming, and that was with BF4, which I set the HUD opacity to a very translucent level and never had an issue. With surely over 1500 hours on my set now you'd expect it to be near burn-in proof. Somehow someway the Destiny HUD is bright and bold enough to do some damage. Again, I feel it's an easy, and simple fix to add an opacity slider. It can only benefit people.

  • So you're upset that a known issue happened... You claim to be very tech savvy but failed to heed the warnings of pretty much everyone who knows about this stuff? I'd say that you needed to take those warnings more seriously.

  • Modern plasmas are very burn-in resistant, if you notice, the super bar and weapon icons in Destinys HUD are so bright and solid, even modern plasmas have trouble. This is an issue I took seriously, and only I went above and beyond to prevent, wiping my screen after every gameplay, so on and so forth.
