If a level 25 has a fully upgraded gun, and a level 30 has the same fully upgraded gun...who has the better gun?
If you can answer this, you shouldn't be questioning the kill in the first place.
He could have been level 20 and killed you. You missed your shot.

If you both had auto rifles, and both hit at the same time, yours should rip through his defence quicker than he can rip through yours. But a 300 attack gun is gonna do the same damage, no matter the level. Level is for defence, not attack. Also, being that you've quoted from the same article...
