Okay just looked it up on halopedia and it confirms what you said. Sucks to be him I guess but at least his consciousness is still around and we will likely see it in halo 5

Halopedia is non-canon. It's good to use to refresh your memory, but check the citations to make sure it checks out. Now that the MCC has launched, I suggest you check Halo Waypoint first when looking for Halo info.
