Deploying friendly AI into the world to make it look like you've made some progress.
Seeing as we're getting a moon DLC with major offenses against the Hive and seeing as we have had plenty of time to run all rampant all over the moon, wouldn't it be great if the City deployed a group of titans of one of its orders to secure something like say, the abandoned colony base near the Hellmouth? It'd actually show that we're making some progress instead of feeling like a failing pest control company.
One could even add a new public event defending the new City outpost alongside these new friendly AI titans that do little more than act like the AI already in the game guarding their area. Occasionally, Fallen or Hive might attack them and you'd be able to see a firefight every time you enter the zone, making the world and moon seem more alive.

Bumping this. I love it. In halo, the marines made you feel part of an actual military force. For those of you who have played Titanfall, the swarms of friendly grunts and battle machines made you, the wall jumping, Titan piloting, jet packing badass feel like an actual spec ops guy among a whole army of other soldiers. I'm assuming the city has a standing army- something besides the force of guardians at its command. I'm also assuming this of the factions. It'd be awesome to see elements of this army move to take and hold places we guardians have cleared. Just as medieval knights were similar elite players in a larger army, I always got the feeling we guardians were the same. The huge public event thing would also add some gravity to the city's situation. It would give that feeling that we actually need to defend the city. Here's hoping this- and many other great ideas- make it into the game.
