Just how powerful are the unsc firearms compared to present day guns and stuff.
Like is a CE pistol as strong as a 50 cal right now? Or is it just like a regular ol pistol

The UNSC guns are all stronger than their modern day counterparts. The MA5 fires M117 7.62x51mm FMJ-AP. The equivalent of the caliber some modern day sniper rifles use. Some of my peers say the M6 fires .50 cal rounds, however, I have yet to see an adequate explanation for as to to how the M6's rather large bullet is equivalent to a .50 cal round.

Caliber is a description of the bullets width, not the length. 12.7mm is the equivalent of 50 cal so the M6D is a 50 cal. Also, the AR isn't necessarily more powerful, as muzzle velocity needs to be taken into account. As it stands the AR fires the exact same round as some modern assault weapons. It's basically just an AK-47. But with a shorter canon effective range, I believe.

AK-47 fires 7.62x39mm, not 7.62x51mm

It's about equivalent, in that the round caliber size is the same (that's a .30 caliber round). The only difference is the casing, which is the part that isn't fired. It has an identical ROF, but the AR had approximately 50 meters less effective range, even though the muzzle velocity of the MA5C is almost 200 m/s higher, somehow. It's a futuristic AK-47 overall, with some slight stat differences.
