I have come to understand that the reward system for crucible (multiplayer) matches are completely random and can be given to anyone, but I find that very flawed. For instance, some people actually join right before the game ends (maybe from a friend?) or haven't actually contributed to the match and end up getting both rewards. Another is that people that work their asses off and end up on the top of their team don't get anything at all! It's really frustrating seeing people not do crap and get rewarded for it.

Not a massive difference, but just a slight difference, enough to be noticeable over an extended period of time. Bottom players could still win an exotic, but the chances of doing so would be less then the guy who finished top. I think something like that would be fair and keep it competitive. This should be equal on both teams, whether you won or lost. because I would hate to see it turn into a farming ground by top tier players just grouping up.
