1. Definite concrete evidence that he exists. 2. A pretty damn good excuse as to why he left us to wallow in our own shit for a -blam!-ing long time.

  • Well, and I'm being civil here, are there not other things that you believe without concrete evidence? I'm assuming you mean evidence in the "hard science" way. Further, do you not think it possible that the truth is not a matter of fact? By that I mean do you think it's possible that there's a difference between facts and truth? Finally, let's assume, hypothetically, that there is a God. How could a God that created the universe, and is therefore not a part of the universe, be explained by the laws of the universe? Disclaimer: I am a Christian, but I am not a young Earth creationist. Too much that shows otherwise. Also, the Bible isn't a science textbook. Otherwise, why didn't it teach us about electricity?

  • and I assume you believe in god through faith? :0 I'm guessing you believe what's supposedly in your heart, that you believed in god and have a right to proclaim the internet crusades. *Wallows*

  • Yes. I do. But faith is not blind, nor does the Bible mandate that it be so. I have reason which leads me into that faith. It is a lot like science. You have tons and tons of evidence, but that last final belief, the fundamental belief requires a leap of faith. Science cannot prove that the universe and its rules will remain constant. We have a presupposition about an unchanging universe that cannot be proven. It is accepted because otherwise scientific discovery would not be possible. The same goes for my faith in God. Christianity explains the human experience better than any other belief system I know of, and so the teachings are striking to both my heart (yes, my heart; it is a part of being a person) and my mind. It draws me in both with my reason and my feeling. It reveals truths that science simply cannot. And like science, that fundamental belief, the belief in the existence of God, takes faith. Otherwise it is all for nothing.
