What would it take to make you a Christian? (non-theists)

The point was raised in HM Rob's thread, in a strange manner that didn't work so well. So here's a direct question for the atheists of Secular Sevens; what would it take for you to become a Christian?

  • Nothing, even if a Christian god did exist.

    •
It's like using yourself as a scape-goat.
That's not acceptable either. Being willing to absolve someone else of their failings isn't acceptable - it's cheating and not allowing someone to take responsibility for their own actions. Would it be acceptable for someone else to go to prison for the crimes of another? For someone else to take the blame? I really can't see a moral way of justifying that position.
Also that doesn't really concern Christians and doesn't affect that specific way of life.
I don't see how it couldn't be appreciated in an abstract way to be applied in a given situation in the future, such as the example I gave above regarding prison. Nevertheless, the fact that Christians treat Jesus as a scapegoat is more than enough for it to be valid and used as an example of something unacceptable.

      • You have a very interesting perspective on things I will give you that But you realize to accept Jesus is to be like someone released from prison due to good behavior and then going on to be a productive member of society. Also you realize that "scapegoat" ends up in heaven? So that person doesn't even go to prison.
