Given that most religion consists of scenarios where matter is created and destroyed (wine). There are conflicts.

  • That's probably the dumbest argument I've ever heard on the subject.

  • Wine was in fact spontaneously created according to the bible.

First of all, you'll have to give me a direct quote. Second, that quote must specifically state that the wine was composed of atoms that were created in that moment, or something else along those lines. Third, you have to give me more examples, because one occurrence in the Bible hardly accounts for "most religion."

  • And he said: Let the earth bring forth the green herb, and such as may seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after its kind, which may have seed in itself upon the earth. And it was so done. Gen 1: 11 plants spontaneously created.

  • Ik same deal though. And what about the amount of rain generated without the evaporation of the entire ocean?

  • There have been times in history when almost all of Earth's surface has been submerged. Large amounts of water are trapped in ice caps, underground pockets, etc.

  • That was before a lot of it was absorbed or consumed. Were talking enough water to have been re-evaporated far underground or from animals and drown an earth that was similarly structured to ours.

  • When the Bible says that the entire world was flooded, that might not necessarily mean that the entire surface of the planet was under water. When Alexander the Great completed his conquests, he said that he was disappointed because there were no more lands to conquer. The thing is, there was still Southern Africa, Northern Europe, Eastern and Northern Asia. That's not even mentioning the Pacific Islands, Antartica, and the Americas, which he didn't know existed. At that time in history, the Middle East and the Mediterranean area was the entire known world. Based on the geography, it is not unlikely that that part of the world could have been flooded at some point in the past few dozen eons.

  • He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10 and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.” John 2: 9-11

  • There's a large difference between creating matter and turning air or water into other things. While many things in the Bible were miraculous, they do not violate the Law of Conservation.

  • Give me an example where any religious figure other than Jesus caused wine to appear. Then show me where it specifically says that the atoms that made up said wine were created from nothingness.

  • Not really; if it was just some random guy doing it then yeah it'd be bogus. But an omnipotent being capable of creating matter could easily do such a thing.
