Thanks for the replies, guys. I find it pretty disappointing that Bungie would essentially make 20% of the game's content something that requires this ridiculous amount of commitment. And before anyone goes off on me for being lazy, or that always popular forum slam, "entitled", let me just say that there are different kinds of commitment. I have no problem working away at a game that demands commitment over time, but on a casual schedule. I played all the Dark Souls and Demon's Souls games. I understand and appreciate commitment.
But this kind of commitment just feels like as much of a grind as the loot hunt. Dealing with the headaches of scheduling, poor leadership, lack of communication, and everything else, is something I can get in my everyday life. If Bungie can't create a game that allows people to simply pick up and play within a proper matchmaking system, in small increments, then they have failed to created a well-structured game.
Bungie, either market yourself as a niche title with all the eccentricities that go with it, or embrace the mass market with something that EVERYONE can play. You can't have it both ways.
