This is the exact reason I never Raid, people have been kind enough to offer, but with rl commitments and a young child I can't always speak on the mic, and if they wake up crying that's my priority. I don't want to ruin someone else's in-game experience due to my rl commitments. I am happy doing strikes and weekly's, and if that means I never ding 30 then so be it, I would like to raid, but as I said before I am not about to ruin anothers in game time. It's also the reason I avoid the Crucible, normally I am a decent PvP player, but for whatever reason I just can't get to grips with Destinys PvP, so I avoid it, I don't want to be rewarded for being horrible while the MvP gets nothing.

  • Ninja I totally agree with the getting rewarded for doing nothing. I think the randomness of this game is flawed in general. I think if you do well in crucible you should be rewarded before the person who comes in last. I also think on strikes and missions there should be a guarantee of something "useable". Too many times you finish a strike or mission and get green items when you are a level 27. What good does that do. Give me a coin, shard or blue or purple weapon, something of use. Way too random.

  • What platform are you on? I'd welcome you to give it a go in my group. Family man myself, and my clan is very understanding (I'm the leader). As long as you can get a good 30 minutes between interruptions, you can clear a section of the raid no problem. Entire run takes 1 hr 30min or less. We normally stop to take a break after the jump puzzle. We'll take a 5 or 10 min break (staying in game, not orbit) for the smokers, and bathroom break, and to relax the eyes for a bit, and pick it back up and finish out the last 20-30 minutes.

  • I've kids and a wife. It's hard for me to raid as well. The most annoying thing about it, is when I do get to raid, all I get are materials.

  • You just need to find the right team. I've had both experiences of the raid. The first time one guy took charge and started blaming everyone else and calling us idiots! He ended up leaving at Atheon and leaving us a man down. We couldn't find someone else to finish and it reset the next day, meaning we'd all wasted our time. I've completed it a couple of times with experienced teams. I told them I didn't really know what I was doing so they guided me through it. As long as you know which type of team you have before you start you'll enjoy the challenge. At the end of the day if someone is that much of a d*ck that they forget games are supposed to be fun, then who cares if you ruin it for them, they're probably the same people who come on here a post that the game is sh*t and they hate it

  • Yup yup that happened to one of my team earlier this week during the Templar fight. We had a couple of stabs at doing it as a 5 but werent quite able to do it. Then he came back and we bossed it as a 6 😃

  • And I thought these forums were ruined, lost forever to trolls, crybabies and pro-wannabes. Gentlemen, you made me believe that not all is lost. There are decent people in the playerbase AND in these forums. Raid with me, buddy (PS4). I am married, so I can relate to your situation. PSN Wustav.
