Borderlands: The Pre Sequel is still very likely to be released on new consoles within 6 months. Gearbox and 2K Australia just wanted to focus on getting the game out before porting it to new consoles, I'd wager.

More than likely. Though I heard a rumour that it would be hard to recode in short time the new consoles, yet diablo & last of us, metro managed it.

Yeah, I was kinda surprised at the turnaround on those. I already have the new Borderlands, so if it doesn't come out on new consoles I am already set. But I'd be surprised if it doesn't.
