I already know all about the FGC. I know people from the smash community. But a handful of gamers doesn't make the game not casual. There is a reason tourney rules have no items.

No idea what ccs is. But I say it's the epitome simply because it is a widely known and loved game that's easy to pick up and play. Casual isn't a bad thing at all. The Internet has just bastardized the term.

Yeah that would never be the epitome. Epitome is supposed to be a prime example. Something to look up to. E.g. Smash bros. Candy crush is just a money grubbing phone app.
