Reading through all the posts there seems to be a lot of I don't cares and like this matters, so here's a quick marketing 101 for you.
"Insert famous person here with a fan base in the millions here" says they like a product, the sales skyrocket
"Insert famous person here with a fan base in the millions here" says they don't like a product and sales drop.
So saying it doesn't matter is stupid. It does and can have very big impact.

But destiny has already sold millions of copies, and millions of season passes. The only way Bungie will lose customers is if whatever comes after the expansions doesn't absolutely blow people away. Until then Destiny is pretty secure financially.

They will take a hit on the next 2 DLC packs, I know it's going to be no where near there projections for non season pass holders. Then with the disappointment of what they do release they are going to be lucky to sell a third one.

That's only true to the people stupid enough to follow him, even if they enjoy the game. I love this game and I also enjoy Eminem's music and him as a person, but just because he got bored and brought a different game doesn't mean I'm going to follow suit.

Look I am just stating a marketing fact, put it this way if Justin bieaber (don't know how to spell his second name) tweeted tomorrow I only drink cokeacola and would never touch Pepsi. Do you know how big of a sales hit Pepsi would take? Fans like that are out there and they number in the millions, never underestimate the stupidity of humans.

i think they/we meant "doesn't matter" on an existential level. a lot of people like Justin Beiber, and and Twilight, and any intelligent, critically thinking human can recognize these things are terribad and not jump on the bandwagon just because everyone else is" the majority of people are stupid. =/ those stupid people will base their likes/dislikes and mold their egos to emulate those of celebrities, tis sad.
