That's a) a problem of perspective and b) a problem of your team.
a) This is the exact same as just about any other game. Like Super Mario World and you beat it? Play again at a harder difficulty. Finished that? Restart. Or Call of Duty for Campaign, go back to multiplayer and do the same thing (although apples to oranges because multiplayer is always very new for multiplayer pvp-based FPSs, but you can't say it isn't there for Destiny). Even Elder Scrolls is the same way. I don't know a lot of people with saves into the myriad hours we have on Destiny, but once you hit a certain level, most people just restart. That's nothing new, it just doesn't pique your interest as much in Destiny which is a flaw in replayability, not in the game.
b) Your team. In WoW raiding, I stopped getting gear after about 3 runs blessed by RNG. I didn't need a single piece of gear anymore, but I ran those raids probably 20 more times, not because there wasn't more (hard mode had better loot and entirely different challenges) but because I had a dedicated group that needed to hit an item level (identical in theory to Light Level) in order to up the difficulty and get the better loot. If you are only concerned with your gear, you are missing the point of raids. To achieve something difficult and to help your team do the same in order to be geared and ready for the next raid to come out. Any MMO-style game is boring if you don't have a team that you consider an extension of your character, and again, that isn't Destiny's fault that you're selfish nor does it reflect negatively on the game. The design and spirit is impeccable but many of the community have no other concern but their loot. That's why the Atheon cliff push is lusted after and bitched about so much, and that's why you're bored.
