I was invited to a raid group last night at Atheon on hard. I was that guy. The newb. I hadnt even breached the gate on normal before and a group invited me to join. I picked up quickly what I was supposed to do, but I was a low 28, so I had a real uphill battle. But everyone was cool. We tried several times but wiped for different reasons (glad it wasnt just my inexperience, though I know that didnt help..) I started feeling like I was holding them back when one of them said something that meant a lot to me... one of them said, " come on guys, just a few more tries, we have to help Master get some raid rewards, lets keep trying. " Man, I gotta say that was an epic gaming moment for me, even if it was just said jokingly. These were all raid vets, 29s and a few 30s, and they could have booted me at any time for another 30 or 29 player. If you had me in your raid party last night, thanks for a chance at awesome. Even though real life interupted and I had to put my son to bed (who's a 27 titan defender who was freaking out watching his old man get a crack at H mode VoG,.. ;P) I had a blast and really thank everyone for being patient with me and giving me a shot.
