I started out with Borderlands on the ps3, and then played Halo on my xbox... And to me Destiny was a beautiful synchronization of the two. I love both games, so I can't necessarily say Destiny is better... But I can say that:
1. Better graphics- doesn't really matter in context to a game and it's gameplay, but whatever.
2. A sense of accomplishment- raids and strikes (especially nightfall and higher difficulties) are a lot more satisfying to complete; but both feature bullet sponge bosses.
3. Less guns- ik ik, that's borderlands whole deal, but when twelve guns drop off of an enemy, and you won't even look at them because they're blue? That's a problem.
4. PvP- while a lot of people don't care for Destiny's PvP, I like it, and it's better than not having one at all.
5. More overall customization- in Borderlands you change your skin, and your head. That's it. In Destiny you get to make a legitimate guardian to your own liking.
However, I could also list things that Borderlands has over Destiny.

5/5 *emails cookie* I will say that 2 is awful close to being invalid though
-
My wording on it sucked haha, but thanks. *nom nom nom's cookie*

I'll just say that point 2 is total bullshit The whole loot system is not satisfying at all
-
I didn't say it was the loot system, I meant beating the boss. In borderlands you can be invincible with the right set up (krieg *cough cough*), whilst in Destiny you have to actually team up and coordinate your efforts with other people... Or just have enough of an idea as to what you should be doing and not die. The RNG system is my one complaint in Destiny.
-
But the RNG loot system is why beating the boss is unsatisfying You kill the boss and there's no loot
-
Vs killing a boss and not picking up any loot? I find the boss fights in Destiny to actually be difficult: you can't use a specific shotgun and shield and be done in three seconds. I like the encounter, and performance of a boss fight in Destiny more than Borderlands. Is that fair?
