Seeing as we're getting a moon DLC with major offenses against the Hive and seeing as we have had plenty of time to run all rampant all over the moon, wouldn't it be great if the City deployed a group of titans of one of its orders to secure something like say, the abandoned colony base near the Hellmouth? It'd actually show that we're making some progress instead of feeling like a failing pest control company.
One could even add a new public event defending the new City outpost alongside these new friendly AI titans that do little more than act like the AI already in the game guarding their area. Occasionally, Fallen or Hive might attack them and you'd be able to see a firefight every time you enter the zone, making the world and moon seem more alive.
Thoughts?

Edited by Mr-KUKUKACHU: 12/14/2014 3:11:37 AMI want a mission where you have to save one of those cleaning frames because it wonders off cleaning and you find it cleaning a cave. Sweeping a pile of dead enemies while saying things like, filthy dregs must clean the world.

This plus larger play areas. Seriously, what happened to "if you can see it you can go there"? Also wouldn't be a bad idea to add like a Hunter on top of either a mountain or building, and perhaps Warlocks searching through ruins.

This is the thread Bungie is going to ignore the most...

A -blam!-ing brilliant idea. A brilliant idea for an evolving MMO FPS That is evolving at snail speed. You go, man. You go. Why don't you work at bungie? Some of that creativity could be used.

Sounds awesome

I love this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You think you have connection errors now...? Implement this and you open a whole new can of worms...

You will probably see something like that in destiny 2 since, you know, its already in production. Destiny is just one big exciting beta.

This is an idea that I could really get behind. Not just on the moon though but on every planet. Once you reactivate the old Guardian outposts (IE generally the first mission on the planet) that should allow an area to be claimed by the Guardians for such an NPC area. Granted this would have restrictions on it. You would have to unlock the patrol mission areas in the first place to access the NPC controlled area. As far as Mars goes you complete the first mission and your Guardians set up a base in response to you breaking through the exclusion zone. The first on Mars in who knows how long. Now then as you progress in the story the NPC base could in theory get "larger". Not so much in size but in quality of troops, defenses and possibly NPC's that allow for trading. Get a Dead Orbit rep down there and cash in on some gear if you wish. Instead of always going to the Cryptarch in the tower have an apprentice down there that gives less rep for the engrams but allows you to stay on world instead of going to orbit and then to the tower wasting time in transition screens. These NPC's would have to be defended periodically if you want to keep using their services. Messages will be sent out after a set amount of time (lets say 3 hours, rolls over if you log off before message is sent) requesting your aid. You could even get a beacon like the VoG has to give you an indicator. Once there you have to fight off large amounts of enemies while keeping the NPC's safe. If you fail or just don't respond they are wiped out and you have to do favors for those particular groups in order for them to send new people there for you to interact with. Oh and there could be local bounties there. The overall bounties at the Tower would still exist and bring the most rep and xp out of any bounties but local ones (three at max) could deal kind of like patrol missions. Have a bounty to bring in 40 spinmetal for upgrading the troops weapons. That sort of thing. They could give you targets to take out and that sort of stuff but they always deal with the specific planet or moon that you are on. Could be a great place to catch some rest instead of going AFK in the middle of everything. Or worse finding a cave which then prevents enemies from spawning for other players. Just my few thoughts though.

It would be nice to have the environment change to show the progress we're making toward "reclaiming our worlds", but how would that work with new players joining the scene? Bungie would have to manage players being sent to specific servers based on their level and tasks completed, and unfortunately I doubt that's possible given the number of server errors we see every day. Love the idea though.

I'd like little outposts on all the planets with a bounty board and mailbox, possibly a faction vendor for whichever faction controls the outposts. That would be enough for me, but you know bungie wants us to go to the tower, so I doubt they'd do it :/

All classes should be involved

I would love this and if you've ever seen the post where it says that the fallen should do something like attack the tower and everyone there would have to defend it, you should talk to the guy who wrote it and team up with him and see what blossoms
