Borderlands is better than Destiny
You must have at least 5 unique reasons as to why Destiny is better to prove me wrong.
[spoiler]I would have said 10 but I doubt destiny has even 5.[/spoiler]

2 RepliesLet me help end this ridiculous discussion with some unique insight: I wouldn't be playing Destiny if not for the Borderlands series. I do not care for traditional FPS, easily one of my least favorite game genres. In 2010, a friend told me "You should check out Borderlands, I know you don't like FPS but knowing what you do enjoy I believe you will like it." So my sci-fi, loot-driven, rpg-loving ass checked it out and I was hooked. BL2 was even better for me personally. I loved this series for fullfilling these gaming preferences while not taking itself seriously whatsoever. So along came all of the talk of Destiny and my same friend telling me I should do some research on it. I did and came to the general conclusion that "this is more or less a much more serious version of Borderlands with more armor and gear, count me in." I am still having a lot of fun with Destiny and I am also having a lot of fun with the Pre Sequel, often with both on the same day. Apart from these loosely similar gameplay mechanics though, these are two totally different games and I think they both are awesome. I will continue enjoy playing both of them. One note on the Pre Sequel though a lot of people don't understand. It is a total "fan service" game. If you love the other entries in the series, you love this one as well. If you don't, the new gameplay mechanics and additions to the lore will probably not have the same effect on you. Along with Gearbox working on Battleborn (which is not looking very exciting to me anyway) the fan service aspect is the biggest reason why it is only on PC and the previous gen of consoles.

Well borderlands 2 pissed me off. I killed the warrior den jack and has a told with lyith. Now I can get some sick ass legendary guns with my friends. NOPE!!! Replay the entire game again, on a harder difficulty! And when u got all the legendary guns and are max level then what? At least destiny has crucible and raids, and possible FREE DLC, more strikes planet that stuff

I only need one reason to like and play a game. Am I having fun in destiny? Yes. I will play it till I'm not having fun, don't see that happening any time soon. As far as the new BL game. Huge fan of the other two and spent a ton of time in both. Now I know just like the other two it will only have so much replay value. I can pick it up later used when the price goes down and get the same experience as the people that are playing it now. I'm along for the ride with Destiny and look forward to playing all the DLC's first day they come out.

4 Replies1. Raids (worth 5 points but ill entertain you). 2. Worth playing even after the first play through no matter how repetitive it is. 3. Has a story (even if it isn't in the campaign theres a deep story coming/in the grimore cards). 4. PvP. 5. Did I mention raids? People say Destiny is repetitive, have you played Boarderlands? Hey beat the campaign and then beat it again and again. At least destiny has mechanics to the raid that don't just make the boss a bullet sponge.

It's obvious! 1) The work you put into the game is not ever proportional to rewards 2) About 4 hours of unique content that is spread out over hundreds of hours of gameplay 3) Everyone whines about stupid things (OMG! BLADEDANCER IZ SO POWERFALL@!!!) 4) Bungie spit took 500 million dollars and turned it into this 5) Destiny tries to be serious, while Borderlands is actually fun. Did I win?

Borderlands is too heavy with its comedic sense of self-importance, making the game feel like it was written by a 13 year old. 3. The guns in Borderlands do not feel like guns at all and most of the sights on weapons are atrocious at best. 4. Vehicles in Borderlands are a nightmare, even if they are cool to use. 5. Too much loot drops too fast, causing you to spend a huge amount of time checking and swapping in your inventory. SHIFT codes and Golden keys give it a crazy kind of pay to win vibe. [b]Reasons Borderlands the Pre-Sequel [i]may[/i] be Better[/b] 1. The game is funny and the characters are unique and fun. 2. There are a lot of guns. 3. The leveling system and Badass Ranks are fun and diverse. 4. Elemental effects on weapons are great fun visually and viscerally. 5. Microgravity on the moon and in space.

5 RepliesDisclaimer: I do like Borderlands (first one best). 1. Destiny has the better soundtrack (Borderlands doesn't have the variety or such memorable themes - do like Jesper Kyd's work though). 2. Destiny has better graphic design (it's hardly fair to argue better graphics, and I do like the Borderlands style, but Destiny simply has more great art in it). 3. In Destiny you invest in your gear - getting it, upgrading it, working with its idiosyncrasies, mastering it. In Borderlands everything is disposable - until late in the game you'll have a better gun every few minutes. Being one with your weapon is a better fit for an FPS. 4. Less loot and simpler character upgrading means less time in menus and micromanaging (I get that it's Borderlands' RPG roots showing, and it's all personal preference, but just feel like skewing the balance of play time in favor of shooting things is a better fit for these FPS/RPG hybrids). 5. Animation and physics are much better in Destiny (this isn't just eye candy - it makes the shooting mechanic much more satisfying). That said, I'm sure I could come up with 5 good reasons why Borderlands is better too - and I will be playing both.

5 Replies1) music/soundtrack 2) challenging raids 3) beautiful graphics, scenery 4) Sword of Crota and Relic 5) voice actors (Peter Dinklage, Bill Nighy, Nathan Fillion, Peter Stormare......etc etc) BTW I like both games and wished that Tiny Tina was a playable DLC character.

It doesn't hold your hand to victory when it comes to challenge. 4. Co-op is very tolerable compared to Borderlands. 5. loot systems feels less grindy compared to Borderlands as Borderlands constantly rewards you little by little; giving a tons guns with slightly altered stats that you don't really need so the changes are very miniscule. In Destiny for example you get 2 different legendary shotguns; first one with a damage perk and reload perk and another legendary with a reload/range perk. In Destiny you get fewer weapon options but are more specific in so in short the design behind this is, "Less is more." The results feels more rewarding.

3 RepliesCan't argue with that. Been playing the pre sequel non stop and it's living up to expectations fantastically. I love the new additions, even as small as the grinder. I'm also glad to see some of the great ai programming from 2k.

Can't deny it But there are a few personal things I like about Destiny better Nicer looking higher quality graphics (personal preference) More optimistic world and less depressing to play I like the sifi better (even though Bungie fails to back it up with a good story) It has halo-"esque" pvp I actually like the game play better The raid is freaking awesome It's more addictive (in a candy crush way though, bad or good?) Customizable character (however limited) Weekly and daily events are nice (should be more interesting though) The lack of content is evident but there are reasons, other than there's nothing else to play, that I play it everyday.
