Bungie's response to leaks is ridiculous

Almost 4 years ago, a leaker by the name of "Tom Morello" posted pictures and captured screenshots of leaked Halo: Reach content. Many people, including myself, mistakenly posted links to these on Bungie.net not knowing the consequences of the action. Multiple times people kept posting on my topic things like, "enjoy your ban", one kind soul told me to delete the link and change the topic name, which I promptly did. However, like many others, I was too late. A forum ninja swooped in and issued a 14 day ban on posting in the forums because I had no prior faults. At the end of those 14 days, I logged on to the forums only to find out another forum ninja had seen my topic and banned me for life! Unable to dispute this I simply gave up hope. Jump forward to 2013, Bungie.net has gotten a revamp, bans have been lifted and everyone can start anew. I had a clean slate and can post again. It was fantastic! Until I realized that the new format allowed people to swear all they wanted to, there was no civil way of disputing problems anymore. And now, people are posting links left and right! Did the rules change? If they didn't, then this is unfair. I don't want equal treatment, but honestly if these people are getting away with stuff like this, why did I receive a ban and not them, if they are doing the EXACT SAME THING? Are the forum ninjas no longer in control? Does Bungie not even care? This literally goes hand in hand with their stance on criticism of Destiny it seems. What is going on Bungie? I want answers. #wewantanswers Edit: I received my 14 day ban within 20 minutes of posting. My topic was blacklisted and unable to be viewed. 14 days later I received my permaban as a follow up. Many of the "leaks" on the forums are days old, and the OP is still commenting on the topic. The rules clearly state, "real or fake leaks are not tolerated". Edit 2: moved to "help" forums because I need help understanding this.

  • Forums are a bit bigger now then they were back in that day. Especially with the app. If they banned everyone who broke the rules now they'd ban like half the forum user base. It's like speeding. Not everyone who is speeding gets pulled over when spotted by a cop. Just the ones that are actually driving stupid or speeding beyond a reasonable amount.
