Because Everyone Using The Exact Same Gun Is Fun (sarcasm intended)

If your like me then your happy the Vex Mythoclast has been nerfed. Nothing annoys me more in an MMO than every single player spamming that one overpowered weapon or class. I like creativity when it comes to building my class or item setup. I also like creativity when it comes to seeing how other people set up their classes or items. I don't want to see PVE or PVP overun by people using the exact same weapon just because it gives them a clear advantage on the playing field. While everyone may not have the Mythoclast now give it another month. Games like this strive on creativity with items, and balancing. Having one item that is overpowered will make it linear and boring. Thanks Bungie, a good decision was made here. Keep up the amazing work.

The Mythoclast debate is filled with misinformation, mainly by people who don't actually have the weapon. 1) The Mythoclast became popularized at the same time as the Iron Banner. A lot of 'number' values for this 'OP' weapon came from high level raiders owning lower level players (whom they did bonus damage to in Iron Banner) and then uploading their highlight reels to Youtube etc. resulting in everyone thinking the weapon was ridiculously OP. 2) Exotics are supposed to be unique. The attribute that made the Mythoclast stand out primarily was It's damage as a fusion rifle primary, at the cost of range and stability. With the nerf that is no longer true, while other weapons like the Suros Regime still stand out for unique modifiers like lifesteal coupled with excellent range, or Hawkmoon which can do tremendous damage in a single shot. 3) Even using the provided 34% nerf numbers, a post-nerf headshot does less damage than a pre-nerf body shot. However, the 34% value was wrong. The real nerf was close to 50%, causing significant outrage as the weapon is outclassed by normal legendaries and in some cases, rares.
