(Edited) Absolute proof Iron Banner is complete bullsh*t!
I was making a new warlock and got through the 4th mission or so. I was level 4 with my friends who are all high level like my main. I decided to test Iron Banner because last night I really didn't see much of a difference playing with my lvl 30, it felt like regular crucible. So I joined up with my friends to play some Iron Banner. I was expecting to walk in and get one shotted with an ankle shot, instead I was baffled at what happened. Watch the video, and let me know what you think.

4 Repliesguys hold on a second just think of the explanation were going to get im thinking something like oh we couldnt make you op because we wanted to give other players a chance i think that would just contradict the whole point of iron banner! i just want to hear what they have to say to cover that ass!! this game started ok and it just keeps getting more bad i really liked the game like many other people when we first started playing it but like the first week after having the cryptarch give you legendary engrams that just turned blue all the time then bungie making a joke about it that just let the players know it was shit and a waste of time basically if they would of made more of a rewarding system they wouldnt have had to make all those hot fixes and patches! and that random drop shit they got OMG! i was watching a stream one day and they were talking about some AFK method on rumble so i looked more into it and it was players going into a pvp rumble match and not even playing they would tie rubber bands to the controller sticks so the avatar would move and not get kicked from the lobby to get rewarded with stuff and it was working so here i am at home just thinking to myself WTF this has to be a joke! but no not on destiny the good players dont receive crap but the bad players get stuff and sometimes the good stuff and by not even playing the -blam!-ing game! but hey good gear cant even save your ass in iron banner!!! WHAT WENT WRONG BUNGIE?

Lets forget about how much the "Level Advantages" are bullshit and talk about how incredibly aweful the lagging is now! I couldnt believe it last night. I haven't had a problem with my connection or anything yet but yesterday I would literally kill someone and it'd take about 3 seconds for them to die or I'd be shooting at someone and they'd just disappear. I never had the problem before thier big "Hot Fix". I love trying to melee someone and they glitch to the other side of a room. The Quality Testing dept for this game should all be fired in all seriousness. I have a hard time believing someone didnt notice all this trouble during the testing phase of the game and it's more likely that bungie released this with tons of issues in hopes of correcting them over time. Unfortunately I think they'll lose alot of players in the mean time. I actually had trouble finding other players in patrol yesterday and usually there are at least 3 or 4 other people in there at once. I did 2 public events last night without encountering another player. That was a first for me

2 RepliesI was running a level 3 titan and a khvostov and did not come in last. I don't really care if Iron Banner isn't what they claimed it to be. I just like the fact that I can get better rewards for playing control, which is in my opinion the only decent game type.

1 ReplyI want to go into the Iron Banner, I really do. But the rewards just aren't that appealing to me. I really want the shaders, but enduring that much to reach IB Level 3 just for a shader is insanity. Plus, I only have one piece of armor left to upgrade to be mid-level 29, so the only actual gear I need is the Raid gear, which I've yet to get any from the VOG this week (yay Ascendant drops!). You need to offer more incentive to participate than just "bragging rights". I could care less about that, I want something that's going to make my Guardian stronger.

I swear it's like Bungie wants Destiny to fail. That DLC in December better be amazing or I don't think there will be a Destiny 2.

5 RepliesSo I think I figured out how backwards bungie will address this, They will nerf gun perks in the crucible thus making a difference in Iron Banner because breaking stuff fixes stuff? See bungie devs I can create terrible ideas that I could also execute terribly. Can I have a job?

7 RepliesAll weapons damage "cap" is determined by the impact rating. When you upgrade the damage it just increases your hit rating which allows you to ignore more defense from the target. However damage is normalized when firing at a level 8 mob while you are level 28, never letting you 1 shot someone or something that is 20 levels below you. The amount of health a level 8 player has (red bar) is a lot smaller than a level 28 player has. Also, defense doesn't start coming into play until your shield is down. (Which is The same across all levels) So in other words dealing 24 damage to a level 8 is a lot more damage being done compared to doing 24 damage to a level 28.

I playd IB today and honestly lvl DOES make difference, its jus barely noticeable, I was using atheons epilog (thorn) maybe my hard light would have been better, I dunno. all I can say is if the level advantage isn't noticeable wtf is the point?!?!?!?!

3 RepliesI'm not sure why people keep being surprised by the "events/new content" being letdowns. Kind of the norm so far for the short lifespan of this franchise. Really hope they spice it up a bit.

1 ReplyPlaying as a level 2 titan with starting gear on the Iron Banner. Just won first game and beat down a bubble shielded level 28. Being able to win 1 on 1 fights at all is ridiculous in itself

I wasn't too worried about this at first but after playing a little, no rep for a loss is leading to people quitting doesn't have to be a lot but something needs to keep people in otherwise they're thinking why should I spend the next 10 minutes playing when I'm not earning the rep required to progress? the damage/health normalization is definitely an issue I'm not saying people should be able to roflstomp you but I would suggest 25-30 should be pretty close with some adantages to the higher 20's/30 20-24 the difference should be more pronounced, anyone below 20 should really have to struggle.

Iron banner is complete trash. It's nothing but shotguns and melees. They should have released the patch to weapons before this shitty event.

Iron Banner is total BS forcing us to play "Control" and no difference with high level, only my grenades are weaker but more or less the same. Don't even get what this event is really for. Didn't bother after getting the Rank 1 shader.

I am soo dissappointed with the Iron Banner its unbelievable. i thought the whole reason they waited this long to release it was because tehy wanted to give people a chance to level up and get their Guardians to a high enough level to compete in the Iron Banner. You would assume that seeing as though the Vault of Glass is prohibbeted for those under level 26 that the Iron Banner would have some kind of level restriction on it too, but NO! It doesn't it has absolutely no level requirement I have high defense and high attack weaponry and yet Low lvl players can still cause a suitable amount of damage on me. It just goes to show that the entire leveling system and all this LIGHT rubbish is absolute BULL! The weapons are pointless, exotic weapons get beaten by standard RARE weapons Armour looks cool but doesn't add increased protection or shielding. All everyone uses is the SUROS REGIME because its an Auto Rifle with ULTRA stability / range basically beast stats! (I have one too so I'm not complaining about the gun per say but more the weakness of all the other EXOTIC weapons, they should be able to level the playing feild at least a bit.? To be perfectly honest things are starting to just be a dissappointment.

11 Repliesi watched my son, aged 8 With a level 17 hunter on blade dancer, get 13 kills using the strangers rifle. Being high level only gives a slight advantage. It doesn't make you invincible. My drops have personally got much better in IB from normal control. I got a Legendary fusion rifle last night. at long last

Just tested this and you are right sir!!! I created a brand new hunter, completed the first mission and went into the iron banner as a level 2. I finished with 7 kills 13 deaths while having the equipment that dinkbot gives you. While not amazing I need never should have managed that many kills as a level 2 while enemies appeared as ??? . Please address this bungie!

Why didn't they just put a level restriction like they did at first? You can't get in crucible till lvl 5. This lvl 4 was allowed in what I thought was a pvp mode aimed at guardians level 27-30. The secret that IB and the crucible are almost identical woulda remained a secret. Regardless of joining a fire team.

Maybe it's the Level Balancing Mechanic in the game actually works in Iron Banner? Attack and Defense levels should still matter though

8 RepliesThis is why I've quit this game, I am level 30 with maxed gear and weapons. There is zero incentive to play PvE now as I have the best weapons and gear. There is zero incentive to play PvP as the IronBanner, the only reason I grinded to level 30 so hard is pointless. The crucible itself is not ranked nor is it that competitive. I gave this game such a chance and hoped it would be the future of gaming and defended it for some time now. Honestly why would I play this game anymore?
