(Edited) Absolute proof Iron Banner is complete bullsh*t!

I was making a new warlock and got through the 4th mission or so. I was level 4 with my friends who are all high level like my main. I decided to test Iron Banner because last night I really didn't see much of a difference playing with my lvl 30, it felt like regular crucible. So I joined up with my friends to play some Iron Banner. I was expecting to walk in and get one shotted with an ankle shot, instead I was baffled at what happened.   • I agree there is something wrong here. If I shoot a titan with max toughness and over 1300 armor twelve times to kill him, any charactercwith less than 500 or 600 should go down just as fast propotionally. I fought a level four last night. Now he did go down faster but no where near as fast as most feel he should have. Over all it feels like they carebeared iron banner a little to much.

    I like quiting games when i see my team sux. I play to win cuz if not, i do not get rep. So instead of fighting back, i just avoid wasting my time on losing team and quit matches until i know we are winning XD

    • The problem with Iron Banner goes beyond the balance of levels as well. One of the biggest problems with it is that the losing team gets zero compensation for their efforts. Because of it, if you start out losing, or the other team seems to be a friendly fireteam, people on your side quit and run to another game that they CAN win. As a person who has few to no friends on the game, matchmaking is a bear, especially when 80% of the games end up being 6 on 2 because people leave. And what do I get for all of my hard work and dedication? A whole lot of nothing. Because one man, no matter how good he is, cannot solo a match against six others. Now I admit, I'm not the best player out there. I'm what you might consider average, and I do have some shining moments and some complete fails, but that should balance out. The mechanic of IB, like much of Destiny, rewards you for having online friends and being able to play non-stop. THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE. Here's a little easy math I did: If you win a match, with the shader and emblem equipped, your rep increases by 30. From rank 1 to rank 2, you need 1200 rep. So, 1200/30 = 40 games I have to win. Simple enough. Alone, at an average of 11.5 min per game, I need 7.7 hours of pure IB to get to rank 2. Now, as a solo player and because of the mechanics and people dropping out, I win about 1 out of every 6 games. Which means I need 6 times the amount of games. In the end, I have to devote 46 hours to IB just to get from rank 1 to rank 2, which is absurd. I don't want to see what I need for rank 3...

        I agree, winning and losing should be determined by who has the most high levels in purples on their team. Then I can look at the roster and know if I need to quit and reque or not.

        • Well, to be honest - it's the same way in PVE: Level 1 mobs (with enough inactivity) can still take out a level 28 character.

        • Ok so I watched both your vids and yes you do have skill but I think that might have been setup because higher lvl people should have been doing more damage to you, like 1 or 2 shotting you. you seemed to barely take damage from enemies when they shot you so that leads me to believe it was setup.

        • I completely agree. My friend and I were playing and both of said that it was just like regular PvP. Although there were times the SUROS Regime and The Legacy would just completely over power and wreck me. Other than that, I had no problem keeping a 1.5 K.D. Using The Grim Citizen III

          • A lot of the comments from most of us reference miscommunication from Bungie. Even Deej has to continually come back and clarify things. But isn't that fundamentally the largest issue glaring at us? From day 1 it's been all about this was miscommunicated or that was improperly explained or this lacked clarification. Either Bungie/Activision really had no clue what they were doing and lost complete direction for their game MONTHS ago, or they thought we were all dumb enough as consumers to not understand what was going on. Both scenarios are scary, as someone who is a gamer and consumer.

          • A lot was different this morning. Got crucible marks, rep and glimmer while being on the losing team. Even got engrams and sartisfied some crucible bounty requirements. Not sure if that was on before. Also my shotgun was not a 1 hit kill. Or even a 2 hit kill. Seems things were changed, though auto-rifles are still dominant.

            • Everything I've read said there are hard limits on the differences level and gear actually make in IB so I wasn't expecting any one shots. I was expecting it to not make much of a difference at all and I was right. The one thing I had hoped for was something different, maybe some rankings or some other tournament structure leading to currency for a special vendor with unique gear. Even cosmetic items would be nice, ships, sparrows, something other than 2 colors and 2 banners with A (as in singular) crap weapon and useless armor.

              • For anyone saying we helped him double team enemies, you're wrong. We decided to run this "experiment" due to the previous night, not noticing a difference in the iron banner. Candy got on his new character, who has both sub classes because he is a level 30 on his other character, and we ran the Iron Banner. Candy was a lvl 4 at the start of the game play. During the 5 games we played testing this experiment, candy was positive the whole time. Sure, he might be better than most at PVP... But that doesn't take away from the fact that a lvl 4 should not have been able to kill question mark ranked players. Basing that off of what Bungie lead us to believe the Iron Banner was. Sometimes yes, more than just candy was shooting at an enemy. We were a team. However, on multiple occasions candy was holding down a location by himself. The biggest question raised from our experiment is, why and how can a lvl 4 do ANY damage to a 29... And if damage is possible, than how can he win in a gun fight? Don't doubt the credibility to the video... I was there and it didn't just happen once.
