is RNG really random?

To begin this oddity as RNG for people who don't know it stands for random number generator essentially a roll of a dice with a set number on it. My reason for questioning ring is because of the queens bounty and the 4 rewards you have a chance to get. Now I've run through the queens bounty on my main and my second character every day since it started completing all of the bountys and the pvp ones too to get to a higher level for experience points, but my main goal was the ship. Out of 4 prizes and the way a random nubs generator should work you would think I would have multiple of everything right? Wrong in a calculated standard I should have gotten at least a few of each good from the queens bounty missions but I have mostly received the helpmate and chest piece. During one day I had gotten the sniper the supremacy 4 times in a row that is either bad luck on my part or something else at play.... Continuing on to today I have yet to see the ship chasing infinity and most of my buds got it on their second run and don't want it... they want the snipers that basically fall in my lap as I play... so I pose the question to people is ring completely random or is there some other factors that could be at play because I've estimate the amount of missions I've done to accumulate close to a hundred runs

  • Random Number Generators usually take numbers like the Time or whatever Value the programer picked, throw it through a somewhat random calculation so it makes a number that you generally have no control over. Im not an expert on this, im only aware of what I have heard in relation to Speedrunners and Tas-ers (Tool Assisted Speedrunner). That if you have 5 systems with the exact same Variables, the game would play the same on each system. So have their clocks be the same and inputting the exact same button presses could have a game respond the same way every time. My friend and I did the same missions together. We did tons of missions. We both got armor, but he was earning Sniper Rifles as well. Neither of us received or even knew about a ship reward. No one we played with received one either. And with this being an Online game, I doubt we will have much control over the RNG. Though from the looks of it, the game doesnt seem to be rewarding Effort, Most Kills, Least Deaths, Most Objectives taken, or anything. Just straight up giving random stuff for random reasons....
