There are about a DOZEN ways you can earn materials. The way you mention is really only open to those players who have a regular FT that they can play with. Whereas most of the ways in which materials can be earned are easily accessible even by solo player. The game isn't structured to fulfill ONLY your personal needs. The game is structured so that MANY people in MANY different circumstances can have pathways to get what they need rom the game.
