I agree with what you said but as a titan I don't feel disadvantaged without the extra shield since titans have the fastest/ most useful jump, last jump perk on titans suck but the 3rd is amazing, especially when you use the dash attack to extend your jump distance. I literally fly across maps and on patrol I feel like I don't even need my sparrow
