Grinding for better gear is the same exact formula used in just about every MMO game. Once you reach a certain point, this is what the gameplay is supposed to be. Grind for better gear, then do endgame raids. If you don't like it, then this isn't the kind of game for you. Don't play it. But don't try to change the formula just because you aren't used to it and don't like it.
