What does the Crucible Combat Rating mean?

Alright so I was just looking at my crucible stats on B.net and saw the Crucible Combat Rating. This is obviously based on your performance, but does anyone know how this is calculated, what a good/bad rating is, and how Bungie uses it? I'd like to believe it's something like their matchmaking algorithm they had in place for Halo to keep players fairly matched, but I've been in too many lopsided matches in Destiny for that to make any sense. If anyone has any insight into this stat please share.

  • It is for matchmaking, sort of like rank. If they did it similar to Reach and Halo it is composed mostly of your K/D and Win/Loss records I believe. Win/Loss seems to be weighed heavier. It may even average the team for match making if you have a squad, but I'm not sure.
