I agree completely I got the Thunderlord and Heart of Praxic Fire for cleaning up the guys the other two players left. It pays to hang back and take it slow, or you can be that guy and go shoot at a dark cave for hours.

I'm sure that was patched... But good job bringing up old farming spots that have nothing to do with the game anymore :/
-
Right since there is always atleast 4-5 people farming at the new cave on earth but whatever.
-
Isn't sitting back and grinding on the mobs more like shooting into a cave than running through the actual game content as efficiently as possibly? Maybe I'm missing your point...
-
Well they put that in the strike for a reason, I doubt blowing past them is it. I don't see how you compare playing the strike the way it was intended to exploiting a frequent rew pawn pout in the game but play it how you want I'll keep collecting what you guys leave behind.
-
actually whenever you kill someone and it drops an engram for someone else (even though they might not be there killing them with you) they get it in the mail anyways...so thanks for supporting me not wanting to go slow and kill all the mobs
-
I wasn't aware bungie said there was an intended and unintended way to play strikes, my bad.
-
Actually they did in the patch notes that accompanies the closing of the original loot cave. Look it up.
-
Ok so how many patrol enemies am I required to kill before progressing in a strike?
-
and I got hard light for coming in 4th in a rumble in pvp.... whats your point? do you really think clearing those mobs garaunteed you some loot, or did you just get lucky?
-
It's an RNG loot system. THE ONLY WAY to increase your chances of getting that loot is to kill more bad guys.
-
or earn marks, and also wait for xur on the weekend.
-
As for coming in 4th and getting that, good for you glad you got it but that's why I hate pvp I can bust ass and get first place every time and get nothing but the guy with a 0.34 kid gets purple engrams. Iam not saying I deserve it but I don't understand giving the guys in the bottom of the score board the good stuff.
-
actually getting hardlight without earning it ruined some of the game for me... I'm glad to have it, but unhappy about how I got it... rng in pve is the same... theres no loot table or earning system behind the loot, unless you are earning marks, with strike speed runs...
-
I think it sure didn't hurt my chances if i hang back and shoot them all, I always get 2-3 blues before we ever get to the boss just bc I stay back and do this. I mean do what you want but I think it's much more effective to try.

He's commenting on statistics. It's like how someone I game with really wants to get an exotic bounty, so he tried turning in 5 bounties at once. Does it help his odds turning them all in at once? No, but if he does it that way he feels like he has a better chance. He's not talking about guaranteeing, he's talking about playing the odds by cleaning up all the enemies. Does he have a better chance? Statistically, yes, but not because of where the enemies were found, but because he killed more of them. Just like you in crucible. Does it matter your placement in crucible? No, but you've played a lot of crucible. Each match increases your odds.
