How? When I tried using it my guy would just go straight down and I'd miss.

Aim up, it works similar to nova bomb's projectile, you are the projectile but you cant go as far as nova bomb but you can cover 30-40+ feet in an instant and jetpack away

Jump as high as you can in the air an center your screen where you want to go. I can get some good distance out of it. Also there is a perk that increases distance.
