Legendary Engrams will always produce Legendary or better quality items, including Materials or Exotics
That is what they put in their patch preview
I have gotten 1 legendary out of 7 since the update and the rest have been rare items
How about this bungie dont be so full of shit.. NONE OF THOSE WERE POST PATCH THEY WERE ALL OBTAINED FROM THE LEVEL 24 STRIKE AND CRUCIBLE ..

What most people don't seem to mention when they say they got legendaries from the engram is what the actual engram says in its description. I have got a whole bunch of blue since the patch and 2 legendaries. The blues all say Blue item, Legendary, Materials and the Legendary ones said Legendary, Exotic, Materials. There is no chance, on mine at least, of getting green from blue or blue from purple. I've had some legendaries from the blues, mostly blues and lots of coins/motes and my legendaries produced one legendary and 2 ascendant shards. The fact that you and others seem to still be getting engrams that state they have a chance to give you green from blue and blue from purple suggests a bug but the majority of us don't have this problem. Bungie did not lie.

2 RepliesI've had the same issue as you. Any legendary engram I've had shows that it still has a chance to decrypt into a Rare. From the 3 legendary engrams I've had since the patch, 1 has been a legendary item, 3 shards and 1 Mote of light. I haven't had a Rare item piece yet though.
