Well they didn't do too badly when looking at Mass Effect did they?!

Yes? But, if you look who has the biggest franchises in the industry you end up with Activision. Bungie wanted Destiny to be at the scale of the biggest, so they went with the biggest machine. The logic is kinda sound.
