Not all players are currently joined into a fireteam.

I'm having what, with a little research, I find to be a semi-unique problem. Almost every time I try and join a fire team the message "not all players are currently joined into a fireteam" appears and refuses to let us play together. I say almost because it happens to about 2/3 of my friends list. The others, never had a problem connecting. And even those I can't normally join, once in a blue moon I can. Originally it happened to someone I share a network with (and no, it's private and not a campus or public network). But it's since spread, like a plague, ruining more and more fireteams. This problem has killed my ability to do raids. Tried forwarding ports, like I know if that would help. But it's the closest thing I've found to a solution yet. As much as I'm looking for help from Staff here, I'd also love to know if anyone else has this issue as regularly.

I've been playing since year one, and ever since the April update, I have not been able to connect with TEN friends that I've played with SINCE year one. All I ask is a way to fix this game problem please!

  • OK so what worked for me after hours of trying. Do a hard reset on the xbox, turn it back on. Sign in but don't open destiny. Then have the fire team leader invite you. It should then work, I did it 3 times and it worked each time. It's annoying and takes a few mins but w.e. hope it helps

  • We found this issue happened to our group when our fireteam leader changed character from the pause menu without leaving fireteam first, thn no matter what we did he couldn't get back in. We found if the party chat leaving multiplayer doesn't work we had to create a new fireteam completely as this one forever had a link to a character who hadnt left and bugged it out. So our new rule- always leave to orbit first then change or log out

  • Not sure if you resolved this issue yet but I had it this morning; I seem to have fixed it by going into Friends > My Profile > Destiny (on the right) > Leave Multiplayer.

    • Been a while since I've had the problem. Wanted to wait to make sure. For me the issue seems to have been resolved in the last server update. Don't really have any other explanation. I'll have some kinks now and then, but their really more of a once in a blue moon thing.
