Halo >>>>>>> Destiny

Destiny - Story Awful story. For a Bungie game I was expecting a story at least a hundredfold better, extremely short and repetitive using Dinklebot to hack something and then go to a horde mode for a minute or two. Absolutely no memorable characters. If the Exo Stranger got sniped halfway through the cutscene, I couldn't care less. The different alien races are faceless. What are their motives? What's an Awoken? Were the Exos made by humans? And when the Speaker tells you about when everybody was gathering below the Traveler, it was pretty fascinating. Imagine an army if Fallen and an army if Guardians fighting for survival. It just feels like you got there late, like how Gamespot describes the story. --<>--Intense Rage Rant Incoming--<>-- AND WHAT THE HELL IS WITH THE -blam!-ING GRIMOIRE CARDS??! There is so much hidden lore in the cards!!! One actually says the Cabal put rockets on one of Mars's moons to use it as a projectile to destroy Earth!!! What the flying -blam!- Bungie?! that would've been badass! External resources are meant to extend the lore, NOT BE THE LORE!!! --<>--Intense Rage Rant Over--<>-- Halo - Story Halo's story has to be one of the best I've ever played. Memorable characters, Master Chief doesn't even need explanation, he may be a soulless brick, but he's a soulless brick with personality! Along with that, the lore is incredible. One could go on for hours simply talking about the basics. Destiny - Loot An hour in Diablo 3: A load of loot. An hour in Borderlands: A load of loot An hour in Destiny: A Legendary Engram. Jk it's just an uncommon, lol. --<>--Intense Rage Rant Incoming--<>--When you're playing a strike for 2 hours straight, you expect some sort of Exotic right?! NOPE. You get a Vegas style slot machine and all you can do is cross your fingers you get anything at all. In PvP all you have to do is be afk and get a soda or something! 40.0 KD? Doesn't mean anything, it's all random. Bungie totally striked out on loot. Big time. Halo - Loot N/A Destiny - PvP *Sigh* What went wrong here? Balance? Unfair starts? Both? Whats with level 20+ kicking level 10- asses all around the maps? I'm aware the weapons are lowered for PvP, but they still have the stats on them. The map designs are decent, my favorite being either Twilight Gap or Rusted Lands. Also did i mention the loot thing? Halo - PvP/Multiplayer Halo 2 takes the crown being possibly the best multiplayer FPS of all time. Excellent map designs, weapons, and balance. Halo 2 actually gave Microsift ideas with their Xbox 360 with voice messages, parties (If I remember correctly.) etc. And to you people are just about to say, "LEL, XBAX FANBOY LMAO" save it. I honestly think the PS4 is better than the Xbox One. Especially with Microsoft shooting themselves in the foot with the worst console reveal OF ALL TIME. But I'm still an Xbox guy, i own an Xbox 360, an Xbox One, and a fat stack of Xbox games. Also, I really like a good number of PS exclusives. (Killzone, inFamous, GoW, TLoU, etc. Are really awesome. Not lying.) Well, I'm all done here. Have a good one.

 • I won't argue on the story because it's pretty much summed up there but the loot is pretty far from accurate. Diablo 3 can be considered accurate if you want to call anything but the legendaries loot. The legendaries become easier to get the longer you don't get one which is nice. But it still takes some time. I've gone six+ hours in Diablo 3 without getting a single legendary. Or anything useful for that matter. I was playing with a guy in destiny who found three legendary engrams in 20 minutes. Borderlands 2 has an extremely higher drop rate of weapons but that game has lootables everywhere. Destiny does not and if you consider how often actual weapons drop from enemies in borderlands it's not that common. Most loot is found in chests of sorts or bought. Destiny lacks a large amount of chests and lootables even more so. You can't compare how often an engram drops in destiny to loot found via chests in borderlands. If you're only considering enemy drops then they're about the same. From what I've experienced anyway. Furthermore have you seen the drop rate on legendary weapons in borderlands 2. It's extremely poor. I've gone through borderlands 2 three times, from first playthrough to ultimate vault Hunter mode, and I never got a single legendary drop. Not including flame of the firehawk shield since it's a mission reward. I hit level cap before I got my first legendary as a drop and by then I had repeated the game so much that I just hacked in stuff to add some flare to the game. That game requires more time farming than destiny does its ridiculous. Despite all that, I'm not saying destiny's drops are good. They're still pretty skewed. It would be nice if they gave you a legendary engram that was guaranteed to be legendary and for the character you're playing upon hitting level 20. A closer comparison of the drop rates of destiny to another game would have to be other mmo or mmo-esque games like maplestory (though it's shit now) and ragnarok. You can't compare destiny, an mmo-esque game, to Diablo 3 and borderlands 2 because the latter two aren't mmo. They're more co-op campaign games and because they focus so much on campaign and individual players they can't have weapons drop once every 20 minutes. There's just too much of a difference between destiny and the other two to be able to compare them accurately. TL;DR: destiny's loot game is shitty but it's not the same kind of shit loot game that Diablo 3 and borderlands 2 have.
