Over the past few weeks, Gaming, Community, and OffTopic have had hundreds of Destiny topics spammed at them. While people posting the wrong topics in OffTopic is not as noticeable, those in the Gaming and Community forums are VERY noticeable. While I have been told that right now it is not considered an issue, I believe that to be bullshit. If the Destiny users don't know where to post now, why would they know a year from now? If anything, they'll become entrenched in their belief that ALL forums are for Destiny discussion, and OffTopic will become the last non-Destiny forum on the site; and even then, odds are this forum will get overtaken. Since the moderation team has told me in no uncertain terms that they are not going to do anything about this, I will. As good as Blonic's idea to peacefully retake the Gaming forum was, it clearly was an attempt to fix a dam with a Band-Aid. There are only three ways this will end: 1. The moderators (recruit temporary Ninjas to help them and) take the fight to the Destiny users, and begin moving every thread they see; and start giving Warnings telling the users posting in the wrong forums that they are doing just that: posting in the wrong forums. If they can do it with Porch Day and other spam attacks, they can do it with this. [u]Unfortunately, I have been told that this will not happen.[/u] 2. DeeJ needs to actually do his job and address this issue in either a Weekly Update, or make a thread in the Destiny forum (NOT COMMUNITY OR BUNGIE,) and tell the Destiny users that they need to stop posting in the wrong forums, and tell them where to correctly post their Clan/LFG topics. If he were to make a topic in Destiny or address this issue in a BWU, then this issue would be cut by half; if not completely. 3. The Webteam renames Clans, and changes the descriptions of Gaming and Community. Clans implies it is only for clan recruiting, and seeing as how the Destiny users don't even use it for clan recruiting anyway, it is now an irrelevant forum. It needs to be renamed to something that implies it is for game-hosting of any and all kinds. I recommend either Recruiting, the Classifieds, Matchmaking, Multiplayer. or something that better conveys it's purpose to the users of this site. Optimally, this will be done in conjunction with Option 2. Nothing will change unless something changes.
