To even enter the Vault, you have to open it. In order to do this, you have to take and defend three zones from continuous waves of Vex and level 26 Praetorians. The Praetorians are the only ones who can reclaim the zones. If you lose one, the spire you are forming will begin to degrade. Lose two, and it comes down faster. Lose all three and well.. you start over. It takes a little while for the spire to form but once it's up, all enemies disappear and you can enter the vault.
You then make your way through some tunnels (there's a chest. Don't miss it) to get to the next area, the first boss fight.
The Templar
For the first boss, you have to jump across some pillars to get to him (Sorry BadNano....). He's a giant Vex Harpy (can't remember what it's called. The ones with shields). First, you'll have to defend a conflux in the center from wave after wave of Vex enemies. If too many sacrifice themselves, the Templar will expunge you and you have to start over. Fanatics (a new enemy) will spawn and when they die, they drop a green puddle which, when you step in it, will mark you for death when the Templar uses the Ritual of Negation. If this happens, run to the circle of light at the bottom of the stairs in the center.
Once the first conflux has been defended for a few minutes, it will disappear and two more will spawn on either side of where the Templar is. This is where Skins and I held an area and the other 4 in our team defended the other side. The left side is harder according to them, so that's most likely why this strategy worked. The right side can easily be defended by two people unless someone goes down (and then you have to wait 30 seconds to be revived).
Defend these two confluxes successfully and congratulations!!! Your prize, you ask? You now get a horde of enemies spawning to kill as many of you as they can before you have to defend three confluxes. You MUST stay alive at this point. If 2+ people go down, you're done. It will be extremely hard to recover, especially if they go down just before the confluxes come in. You'll have to defend these confluxes with two on each, just like the zones to enter the vault. This can get pretty hairy, but once you beat it, you hit a checkpoint.
But you're not at the boss fight yet. Now he will spawn oracles, yellow balls of light that, if not killed in time, will mark you for death. Don't rely on the circle of light to cleanse you because you can only use it so many times it seems. Use it only as a last resort if necessary. While you're trying to kill the oracles, Hobgoblins spawn all around you and continuously try to snipe you. Have at least one person on each side be some form of counter sniper. They will kill you quickly. Once you pass this point, it's time for the boss fight.
Every enemy will disappear, including the Templar. Regain your shield, revive who needs to be revived, and strategize. There will be a relic where the circle of light was. This relic is absolutely necessary. Pick someone who is good with melee and staying alive, since it will become your weapon. The only way to bring down the Templar's shield is with the Super of the person with the Relic. You have to shoot him with it to bring his shield down. He will put fields around you to slow you when his shield is down. Destroy it quickly and attack him as much as you can before he teleports. Let the person with the relic kill the numerous harpies. It will recharge the Super faster. Also, use your own supers to give him orbs of light to charge it faster. Continue this as quickly as possible, especially when you see "Enraged is near" or something like that. When he is enraged, he will endlessly spawn harpies and level 25 Minotaurs. You must kill him before this or you're pretty much screwed.
After beating him, enjoy your victory!! Boss 1 is down!! Now go through the door and enter the tunnel. Continue until you find yourself in the Labyrinth of the Gorgons (always be looking for chests, we may have missed on here). You'll have to navigate the maze without being spotted to find the next area. Didn't expect a stealth element, did you? We didn't either. We failed... a lot. But we made it through!!!
