Hello Flood, Offtopic, and #Gaming refugees. As we all know, all of our efforts of correcting the situation have been void. The new Destiny players won't listen, and the mods are backing them up.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result
We need to do something that will get the mods to listen. Getting mad and doing what we've done will not do that.
I have a solution, however foolish or temporary it might be. As some of you have seen, dazarobbo suggested reporting threads so the Ninjas see them. (Like they weren't visible before)
He stands solid on his stance, so that is the only way they will listen. Let's give them exactly what they asked for.
I propose we go to any topic where Destiny threads do not belong, and report them. All the ones we can find. Flood their notifications so that they see how bad the situation is, so that they actually do something.
To any Ninjas that happen to read this: I sincerely hope this remains in #Offtopic, where it was originally posted.
We're fed up. It seems to us that you are learning to live with the problem, instead of finding a solution. There have been no announcements to any sub forum, and there have not been any concrete solutions offered by the Ninjas or anyone else, such as proposing a dedicated LFG sub forum. We have heard nothing of the sort.
We know there is a lot of threads to manage, and only so many of you, and you're supposed to be Ninjas. But the relative silence regarding a pressing issue such as this is, quite frankly, pissing everyone off. If you may, please let us know if anything is happening other than moving threads in order to resolve the issue.
TL;DR: Start reporting Destiny threads if they don't belong
-
That's a good idea
-
Yeah! Murica!
-
This would be easier than bumping threads, and trying to explain to the desticles that they are posting in the wrong forum.

Edited by comiclegregblade: 9/23/2014 7:38:27 PMI just saw someone in #gaming ask for warframe buddies on Xbox one then some user said "this is destiny not warframe go to reddit for that"
yes I did explain to him why this site is entirely not for destiny but I'm expecting a ban from a ninja for some reason
-
[Ninjas, if you're reading this, I mean it] Honestly, at this point in the game I'll settle for a "yeah, we're working on it" or "no, we're not working on it" from the mod team. I don't need a full answer, explanation, or plan - just recognize it's a problem. That's all.
-
What happens when they take over offtopic?
-
*walks over to #gaming* "CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGEEEE!!!"
-
Jphn I'm not sure about this. Don't get me wrong this sounds like a good idea, but what if we started posting in #Destiny or #Community to try and resolve a peace AND did this. We can all agree these Guardians are too new to understand our community values we hold so dear. So, what if, as the Flood, we elected a (I know this may sound crazy) community peace maker that can target these large Destiny populations with community advertised threads?
In a messed up way, I'm saying why don't we elect a temporary Flood community manager. One that represents all of the Flood. A Gravemind so to speak designed to sort out the mess and offer the Flood a sense of direction.
Far Cry 3 was nothing short of pure genius.
-
Thus bringing war between The Floodians and the Desticles. Floodians will prevail

"Have I ever told you the definition of insanity? Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again and expecting sh¡t to change. First time somebody told me that, I though he was lying to me. So bam, I shot him in the head. But then everywhere I looked, everywhere I went was just people doing the same thing again and again and expecting something different. That. Is. Crazy." -Vas

a thingy that searches for keywords such as "fireteam" n moves threads to right place

Edited by Upperclass Bum: 9/23/2014 11:29:47 AMI'm not going to do their duties for them... Report threads so that they can see them? What kind of shit is that? You're not being much of a moderator if you always need things brought to your attention instead of noticing it your damn self... I'm fully aware they aren't robots and have lives and that moderating this site isn't even their job, it's something they have volunteered for, but ffs... Get your shit together. May as well make idiots like me a mod if this is the case... /rant

I say at 8:00PM EST on Wednesday we report all the threads. The forums are quite busy at that time.
-
My finger hurt after all that repotting
-
Honestly, if you want to do this, you should advertise this in the group and we can have some people do that during the next crusade, but can just limit it to #Gaming for the time being if you want, or spread into the other forums and have a few people report in other locations.
-
PM the Desticles who post in here and #Gaming meatspin. They'll learn eventually.
-
Jihad
-
If we PM enough weird shit to the desticles, they'll be bound to GTFO.
-
I say we give it a try
-
Yes. Yes.
-
Let's launch a M.O.A.B. on 'em. Rebuild a new #gaming out of the ashes of the old.
-
Lets strike back! We post things that would belong in #Gaming but in #Destiny
-
Edited by Fartmonkey: 9/22/2014 4:59:05 PMI could just gurgle in the Ninjas ears and make them listen But honestly the Destiny stuff doesn't bother me. I've grown used to it and I mentally block them out automatically now.
-
We need to declare war on the desticles. Let's invade #Gaming and #Destiny with random threads until the desticles retreat to #Destiny.
-
If Mods are coddling the new users 1.) They will become reliant on mods to move their topics to the correct forum or just not care where they post stuff and eventually leaking into #Offtopic (like we are seeing more and more now). 2.) They will not have a good experience because they are getting yelled at by more experienced members because they don't know where to post due to #Gamings not so great forum description.
