During the games, the Covenant is in the 23rd Age of Reclamation, right?
At the end of The Fall of Reach, the Pillar of Autumn's MAC is damaged. At the beginning of Halo CE, it is again reported that the main gun is damaged. Am I missing something very obvious, or is it a minor discrepancy?

The Autumn had two periods of time during the Battle of Reach where it underwent repairs.

One was when it landed, and the other...?

It was able to do some minor repair and refit in orbit.
