Are Titans the weakest in the Crucible, or am I just worse than I think?
I've tried Crucible over and over. My friends tell me it's fun, and that you have to get use to it, but they're playing as Warlocks and Hunters. I'm constantly being wrecked by players, that are mostly Hunters and Warlocks. Even thinking about it, I don't really see that many Titans in the Crucible. The Titan abilities seem to only really work in defense, even the Striker Subclass. Is any other Titan just getting destroyed out there? I'm good at games like Halo and Battlefield, and I'll admit, I'm not great at Crucible, but this is out of control! Does anyone feel the same? Are Titans a weaker PvP class?

9 RepliesHunters have scrub supers, so they're the easiest to use. Warlocks (Voidwalker) are masterrace. Titans are a bit tricky. I was doing pretty dang well with mine two iron banners ago.

For a Titan, you have to play more conservatively than the other two characters. You should also get the hang of using lighting grenade. As for defender, magnetic may seem like the best PvP option, but the one grenade that stops abilities is far superior. I'm not saying you should camp, just go forward more cautiously and be aware of your minimap.

I will agree with most people and say that the classes are each tailored to different play styles. I tend to do better as a titan due to my run-n-gun play style, and how I utilize flanking to FoH a CP on most of a team, as well as armamentarium giving 2 nades, which are always useful for capturing. Don't be disheartened if its not your best class, as you may just be better with another.

The titan can work as well as the other two classes. You have the highest jump available and a strong melee. The only difference in the melee is the titan reach is a little shorter, but there is shoulder charge. I play striker subclass because there is nothing better than wiping 3 + people capping a flag or waiting at the heavy ammo box. It just depends on your play style. I use all three characters and Titan is my favorite when I PvP. Understanding the maps and how to fully utilize all of your abilities is very important.

Titans are great, shoulder charge, in ToO reserve your fist of havoc for when a blade dancer is trying to get brave lol, soooo funny too, just not when it happens to me :(

Titans are -blam!-ing savage in crucible, you can barely ever kill a fist of havoc, shoulder charge is surprising, the bubble is great for trials, they have the most op grenade In the game, and they have flash bangs which help a ton

Yeah Titans are the worst PvP class. You can learn to use them really well, but they're just a harder class to learn how to get good with in PvP.

No. Every class has a playstyle. You must adjust your playstyle to the class.

In a straight up firefight Titans are just as good as any class. Their weakness is in their supers and how they compare tactically to the other classes. While the Fist of Havoc is opportunistic - i.e. you must have the enemy grouped together to get more than one kill and it can be challenging to aim - both the Warlock and the Hunter have supers that are mobile. They can activate them and then roam looking for targets. This is especially true for bladedancing Hunters, as bladedancer gives you a lot of speed and mobility (they can practically fly). You're correct that the Striker really seems to end up being used defensively (a la "The Fist of Panic") and the Defender is at a real disadvantage since most if not all of the other supers can take out both the bubble and you within just one activation. You're also correct that titans are the minority in Crucible. If you check out your grimoire and your kills for each class in the crucible, I'll bet that titans killed in the crucible is the lowest number. Now, if it sounds like I'm busting on Titans a bit, I'm not. I run ONLY titans (I had all 3 at 29/30 prior to TDB but didn't enjoy the other two) and my team of 3 Titans went flawless in ToO yesterday. Since you generally only get one super during a round of ToO, I think that this supports my opening statement. In any case, your choices are to hang in there, and pair up with other classes so that your fireteam is more versatile - or do what many others do and spin up a second class as a warlock or hunter and run that in crucible.

I main Titan in Crucible. Both specs have their advantages, but I prefer the more aggressive Striker class. It never gets old to FoH a CP in Control and get Triple Kill, Cry Havoc, and At Any Cost all at once, even better if you get more kills. :3

I started out as a Striker Titan and I did fairly well. Ups and downs but not too shabby. I mostly run Hunter now.

It all comes down to play style. I love running my titan in PvP and have not really had any more problems than running any another class. Shoulder charge and fist of havoc are op and a cert to drop anyone, most of all bladedancers when they power up.

One win away from 9-0. Lost to a team of two titans using bubbles.

I'm actually better with my titan than the hunter and warlock. I think it comes down to play style and which class accommodates that style.

Titans are there as s support class. You can still do very well, you just might not be a killing machine like a Hunter.

3 RepliesMy main class is a Titan, and all I can tell you is that you shouldn't treat the Titan any different from the other classes. Yes, it's tankier and slower, but that doesn't mean you can't shoot stuff as opposed to just punching things. Just play like you'd play any other class, and utilize the supers well and you should be good :)
