Better way to Loot

Just wondering if there is a better place to farm gear than the nexus. All I hear is people saying the crucible, but I suck at PvP :( And if there isnt a better place, I'm up for some nexus farming :D

I haven't tried farming, myself. I'm not even 20, yet, but I'm close. A few more missions or strikes, and I'll be there.
