Shouldn't they be able to use the same models though?

Different engine=different assets. It would be like trying to render the Master Chief character model into Call of Duty, it's a different engine so it can't be done.

Yes, but I guess they decided against it since the engines are so different. Plus I think two completely different studios are working on the Anniversary MP and Anniversary campaign skin/audio.
