Have you not seen the differences in the SMG? The campaign is hold "truer" to the OG than the anniversary MP mode.

But why not have the same design they have in the campaign? What is the point of making new models just for the multiplayer?

The multiplayer runs on a unique engine purpose built for the Xbox One, it is different from the Halo 2A engine.

Shouldn't they be able to use the same models though?

Different engine=different assets. It would be like trying to render the Master Chief character model into Call of Duty, it's a different engine so it can't be done.

Yes, but I guess they decided against it since the engines are so different. Plus I think two completely different studios are working on the Anniversary MP and Anniversary campaign skin/audio.
