I pre ordered from game and got the exclusive sparrow, do I get the day one vanguard because I pre ordered before the vanguard was announced

All of the codes you need should be on your receipt when you pick up the game. Typically pre-orders are granted all bonuses that are announced even if you pre-order the game early. Not doing so would be a detriment and a punishment to early pre-orders which most companies wouldn't want to inflict on their customers.

I received an email stating that my pre-order had been upgraded to the Vangaurd edition. So I think you would have also? If you have a GAME card and it's linked to your online account, have you tried checking your status to see if it mentions Vangaurd?
