So we got a look at the multiplayer game modes in the new trailer Bungie released today. What do you guys think of the game modes we're going to have access to at launch? Vote for the game mode you like the most. We'll probably get to see which game modes our groups will be most focused in.
Skirmish - Small teams, probably 4v4 or 5v5. Two teams fight to take down the other first. You can only be revived by a teammate if you die. The game is probably played in rounds. This mode probably only utilizes small maps.
Rumble - Free-For-All game type. Everyone is a lone wolf out to kill every other player. The goal is probably to either have the most points by the end of a time limit, or reach a point cap first. This game mode probably played with 5-8 players on small/medium maps.
Salvage - Two teams compete to collect "relics." If you die you can only be revived by a teammate. This game type is most likely played in rounds. The game mode could possibly be played in a couple different ways so these are my best guesses. One team will try to salvage a relic while the other team defends it and they switch off between rounds. The other possible way is that two teams will compete to collect relics that spawn on points on the map and return them to their side for points. It will probably be played on small maps with teams or 4v4 or 5v5. If you have other ideas for how this game type will be played feel free to comment.
Clash - Your classic Team Death Match game mode. Two teams fight to get the most points by the end of the time limit, or fight to reach a point cap first. Most likely 5v5 and played on most maps.
Combined Arms - A bigger variation on the Clash game mode, similar to Big Team Battle from Halo. Two big teams fight it out to get the most points by the end of a time limit, or reach a point cap first. Vehicle combat emphasized and big maps are priority. The player count for each team could be 6v6 or higher.
Control - A game mode we're all familiar with. Two teams fight over 3 flags to gain the most points by the end of the time limit. Played 5v5 and probably on small/medium maps.
Iron Banner - A game mode where stats from weapons and armor matter. The same bonuses you receive in PvE will be active here. Having better gear will give you an advantage in this mode. Playing this game type will reward you with gear. Bungie has taken our feedback into consideration and will most likely fix the system to reward people who play well. This game type will most likely make use of all game modes that use teams of 5v5.
