GrimGuard FAQ List - If You Have A Question It's Probably Answered Here

After reading through all the posts on the board. I have decided to put together a mini-FAQ of answers. Please understand this will be edited to reflect new answers, and I will attempt to answer as many of the major questions as possible. Hopefully this helps before you post a thread asking the question. Q) What is GrimGuard? GrimGuard is a clan that will roam Destiny for PVP, PVE, Raids, and other fun bits. It is a unit. It is a family. It is the good stuff in the secret sauce of your favorite eatery. Q) What are Squads? GrimGuard will be broken into four Squads that contain our members. Crimson Star, Thunder Wolf, Night Reapers, and Hell Dragon. These will be your designations during online PVP matches, and other events set up by GrimGuard leaders. Think of them as the Houses from Harry Potter. Useless to the overall plot, but vital when it comes to Quidditch. Get the picture? Q) I'm a Member. Am I also a Clanmate? In order to become a Clan member, you must choose the option to do so at the top of the home page for the group. This option will only be available to you, if you have played the Destiny Alpha, Beta, or Final version on your system of choice. When you have done so, the button to allow you to become that consoles clan member will be available to you. Q) What's the difference? Being a Member allows you to post in the forum. Being a Clan member allows you to automatically sync up with other members in-game to join Fireteams, etc. You will also get special Clan only rewards from the game by joining in missions with other Clan members. Being a Member, is not a Clan member. It's vital to know this. Q) Okay I'm a Clan member. How do I become a Thunder Wolf, bro? Being a Squad member is random. You will randomly be placed in a Squad. Q) I want to be in charge. I'm a natural born leader! The structure for control of squads will be multiple tiers: SQUAD COMMANDER (Admin Position): Handle all back-room paper work/website stuff and have meetings with other Squad Commanders. Coordinate community-wide events like the Grim Games. There is 1 Commander per squad. SQUAD CAPTAIN: Oversee Squad operation and manage squad-level events. They set up events like PVP and other team vs. team events. They get the details together, and bring it to Squad Commander's for final approval. Captains will be in charge of whatever events are set up. There is 1 Captain per squad. They are next in line for Commander should the current Commander vacate their position. SQUAD LIEUTENANT: Aides to Captains. They help manage events and get things done in the group. They are there to listen to feedback from group members and suggest group ideas and other things directly to the captain. It has not been listed how many Lieutenants can be in a squad but the obvious lowest number is 1. A Lieutenant is likely next in line should a Captain vacate their position. SQUAD MEMBER: Any member of a squad. There are approximately 4,997 of these members in each Squad. They can move up the ranks to Lieutenant if a Captain tells a Commander they wish for it, and it's approved. It has not exactly been said how a Member can rank their way up to Commander but it will likely have to do with how active they are, participation, and how liked they are by their fellow members. Q) Will we really have a website? Yes. We're also going to have t-shirts. Show your pride with consumerism Guardian! Q) When is the website going to be active? Before the release of Destiny, there will be an incomplete site online. As time goes by, the website will become more functional. There's ten years to get it right, so like the game, don't expect everything to be on by Day 1. Q) Is there like, a complete list of players so I can add everyone? Gabberbakker has created a list of all the known PSN users. You can catch that here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Fy-3h1Opc8UCjfhpSCoJe4_LnPmKpFTZw1DNfKMb2O4/edit#gid=0 As for the XBOX users... Nobody has done it yet, will it be YOU?! Q) Can I play with PS4 members on my PS3 or vice versa? Same question with XBOX 360 and XBOX ONE? No. Sorry. You can't. Your data and character can transfer between systems, but not gameplay. So you can't snipe a PS4 player on PS3 and vice versa. Q) But why?! Bungie said that the hitboxes in PVP sections were to blame. They have no control over new-gen console owners having an advantage, so they did away with connectivity functions. Q) So can our whole Squad be ONE FIRETEAM?! That would be awesome! It would be awesome, but it would make the game a laughing stock if a 5,000 person Fireteam drilled through a mission. So no. The max Fireteam for any mission will likely be 6 People. You CAN however ASK members of your Squad to join that 6-Person Fireteam. Q) Will all of my Beta progress carry over? I'll be the strongest Clan member won't I?! No. No data culled from the Alpha or Beta release will carry over to Final game. The only two things from the Beta that carry over will be special banners. You get one for having simply participated in the Beta. The other was a special banner you could only get if you played the Beta on Saturday, July 26th from 2pm - 4pm PST. Only 870,000 people of the 4.6 million Beta players received this special nameplate (myself included). These are the only Beta goodies you'll get in the Final release. MORE AS IT COMES! Feel free to ask questions here and I'll answer them as best I can!
